PROTHONOTARY/CLERK OF COURTS': "Ministerial officer of the court having custody of its records and seals with authority or power to certify to correctness of transcripts from such records, and authority to perform certain acts of a judicial nature incidental to the judges ministerial duties."
MATTERS OR DOCUMENTS FILED:
- Must be original in nature and signed with original signature by filing party, and must have a case caption.
- The "court division" and the type of document must be included on the filing; and if a case number is already assigned, the document must include the case number and caption.
- A FAX is not acceptable for filing, and will not be filed of record.
- Filings may be made either by mail or in person. If documents are filed by mail, a self-addressed stamped envelope shall be included for return copies.
- All filing fees are required to be paid at the time of filing. A copy of the fee schedule will be made available upon request.

Old birth and death records (Snyder County) from 1893 thru 1905
Marriage records (Snyder County) 1885 to present
Marriage Licenses - Fee $ 37 -
- 3-day waiting period from date of application prior to issuance of license
- License is valid for sixty (60) days from issuance date (must use within 60 days)
- Bloodtest not required
- Drivers license or birth certificate required
- Applicants 15 yrs of age and under, need court consent and parent or guardian consent
- Age 16 - 17 parents or guardian consent only
- Age 18 or older - no consent necessary
- If previously married, need certified copy of divorce decree or death certificate
PASSPORTS: ALL APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR IN PERSON to process application
U. S. citizens must present a valid passport book when entering or
re-entering the United States by air. U. S. citizens entering the
United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda
at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book,
passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U. S.

Application for passport (Form DSP 11) is executed with the Passport Acceptance Agent. (Prothonotary/Clerk of Court Snyder County)
Passport renewal (Form DSP-82) may be completed and mailed to passport office by applicant.

- Age (15 and under) must submit LONG form birth certificates showing the child's name and the parent's names.
- Even with a previous passport - a LONG form birth certificate is required for 15 yrs old and under and also the previous passport.
- Parent's (both) must show ID at the time of processing the application such as a valid driver's license (not temporary or learner's permit).
- ALL passport applicants, including children of ALL AGES, must appear in person.
- Proof of Identity (valid driver's license).
- Two identical photographs (applicant alone) taken within last 6 months (must meet US Department of State passport standards - see Form DSP- 11 application).
- THIS OFFICE DOES NOT TAKE PHOTOS
- Separate check or money order to cover application fees (cannot mail cash with application).
Passport Book Fee: Age 16 and over $ 75 (payable to "U. S. Department of State").
Additional Execution fee $ 25 (Agent's fee must be separate check or money order).
Age 15 and under $ 60 (payable to "U. S. Department of State")

- Required information: Name, birthplace and date of birth of both parents.
PASSPORT CARD-May only be used for land and sea travel between the
United States and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean.

APPLYING FOR BOTH BOOKLET AND CARD AT SAME TIME? Here are the fees:
First time applicants: Adults - Passport fee $ 95 + Execution fee $ 25
Minors - Passport fee $ 70 + Execution fee $ 25
VALIDITY for both booklet and card: Adult 10 yrs - Minor 5 yrs

- You are able to submit your most recent passport booklet or passport card
- Your previous passport booklet or card was issued on or after your 16th birthday and you were issued your most recent U. S. passport booklet or card less than 15 years ago
- I use the same name as on my most recent U. S. passport booklet or passport card OR I have had my name changed by marriage or court order and can submit proper documentation to reflect my name change
- Fee Booklet $ 75 / Card $ 20 (payable to "U. S. Department of State")

ADULT BOOKLET - $ 110 / CARD $30
MINOR BOOKLET - $ 80 / CARD $ 15
plus the Clerk of Court processing fee $ 25
Return processing time after application is received by the U.S. Passport Office is four (4) to six (6) weeks - unless expedited service is used. Expedited service (within three weeks after passport office receives the application) involves an additional fee of $ 60 plus any special mailing fees, and applies ONLY to the passport booklet at this time.
